The tech giants are forced, almost annually, to admit they record audio, tap our cameras, and track our location, even when users have those settings turned off. They pay the lawsuit fines, and continue business as usual.
Where this data is going, and what companies intend to do with it in the future, is a mystery to everyone, often including those who collect it. We have believed since our inception in 2019 that this is something we should guard against- both in our desire to help Americans and our friends abroad remain free, and in our contempt of tech companies, hackers, and governments worldwide who believe they are entitled to your personal data and private life.
We created the Refuge Ghost (Faraday) Sleeve in 2020 to solve this problem. We, like most people operating in the modern world, don’t have the luxury of not owning a smartphone, but aimed to mitigate its side effect of being our own personal spies. After creating the first camera and microphone blocking phone case the prior year, we created the first location-blocking Faraday sleeve that also includes sound blocking panels inside.
Unlike low-grade, foreign-made alternatives, we’ve made ours with enhanced signal blocking, shielding higher frequency 5G that most sleeves miss- keeping users off the map in higher frequency areas.. We have also proudly made ours in America from day one, with beautiful, durable American Buffalo leather, inspected all the way down to the 3.0 model’s color-matched, hand-painted edges.

The Refuge Ghost 3.0 Faraday Phone Sleeve

Our 3.0 Ghost Sleeve blocks all signal to and from your phone, including higher frequency 5G that other sleeves miss. In addition to the signal, Bluetooth and location blocking, it is also the only Faraday sleeve with sound blocking added. A step up from our discontinued 2.0 sleeve, the 3.0 has beautifully hand-painted color match edges, which allow heavier-duty usage for customers using the Ghost Sleeve “in the field”.
